Will the Buick Regal drop its top?

Buick has a new convertible…if it wants one.
The Vauxhall Cascada is a drop top version of the Buick Regal’s British cousin, the Insignia.
Built on the same platform as the stateside car, the Cascada is about the same size as an Audi A5 convertible.

Aimed further upscale than the hardtop, the Cascada offers a leather-trimmed dash and Nappa hides on the seats.
When it’s closed, the fabric top is long and low, similar to the one on the BMW 6-Series convertible. Nevertheless it can be opened or closed in 17 seconds. The rear seats even fold down to expand the cargo area into the cabin.
But will it come to the U.S.? When the Regal was launched a few years ago the folks at Buick hinted they were considering adding both coupe and convertible versions to the lineup, but have been mum on the topic ever since.

However, an updated Regal is set to debut next year and showing up topless sure would help it make a splash.
