Are you worthy enough to own the original 1976 AMC Pacer from Wayne's World? This recently restored car is going up for auction at Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas, and one lucky person will take home the flame-emblazoned baby blue coupe that Wayne and Garth used to rock out to Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody."
The car has been brought back as close to movie spec as possible. Close, since the stereo and speakers have been updated. We can only hope the future owner finds a cassette deck to remedy this clear oversight. Other than that, everything appears as it did in the 1992 film. That means mismatched wheels and a hole in the roof for the licorice dispenser. Much of the mechanicals, including the exhaust, water pump, power steering pump, alternator, and battery were replaced. The two-tone interior also seems to be all-new.

Movie modifications, like one-quarter-inch steel plates welded to the rocker panels for camera supports, were added. Also, it appears both the heater and AC were removed.

While it's difficult to say what this may sell for at auction, it's currently listed with no reserve. Movie cars can be finicky and tend to go to someone with a deep love for the source material. This particular Pacer is one of the most iconic of all time, in part due to its relative lameness compared to classics like the "Smokey and the Bandit" Pontiac Trans Am or the Aston Martin DB5 from "James Bond" films. Whether it ends up being a bargain or a bust, this looks to be one of the cleanest AMC Pacers still running.
