Shelby American recently moved to a new headquarters, and the legendary company is cleaning out its attic. That means 11 Shelby concept cars and prototypes are up for grabs. Shelby says it would rather see them in the hands of enthusiasts than sitting in storage, adding that it wants to make room for what was always Carroll Shelby's favorite car: "the next one."
The list (click here for PDF) includes concept or prototype versions of many of Shelby's recent models, including the 2011 Super Snake and GTS Mustangs, as well as two 2013 Mustang GT350 models.
The 2011 GTS concept features a supercharged V-6 engine good for 475 horsepower, while the 2011 Super Snake sits at the other end of the spectrum with a 5.4-liter supercharged V-8 that chucks out 750 hp. Meanwhile, the GT350's supercharged V-8 produces 624 hp. Mustang fans have plenty of choices here.
Also on offer is a 2013 Shelby Raptor concept--complete with graphics and supercharged 6.2-liter V-8--as well as the concept version of the Shelby Focus ST. Probably the most unusual vehicle for sale is Cobra 289FIA "continuation car" used as a demonstrator for a proposed spec racing series.
Prices start at $50,000 for the Focus ST concept, although Shelby is asking much more than that for the other cars--the next-lowest asking price is $99,000 for the 2011 Mustang GTS concept.
