Cops catch speeder transporting $200,000 and drugs

Speeding down your country’s main highway at 1pm in the afternoon is never a good idea, but that’s especially true when you’re in the process of committing a major crime.
A Royal Canadian Mounted Police patrol last week pulled over a 2017 Dodge Durango going 93 mph in a 62 mph zone on the Trans-Canada Highway in Carberry, but they didn’t just end up writing a speeding ticket.

Along with its three occupants, the cops found marijuana and $200,000 in Canadian cash that was apparently drug money, the Winnipeg Free-Press reports.

The three men, two from nearby Winnipeg and one from British Columbia, were charged with various drug-related violations and the possession of proceeds of a crime over $5,000. The investigation continues.

"Proceeds gained from criminal acts have no safe passage in Manitoba as we will enforce the laws to the fullest extent," Manitoba traffic enforcement chief Inspector Ed Moreland warned.
