BMW has unveiled its new 6 Series Gran Coupe, which goes on sale in summer of 2012 As its name suggests, is larger than a 5 Series, but not quite as big as a 7 Series. Think of it as a stretched version of the two-door 6 Series coupe, which is essentially what it is. (BMW)
The Gran Coupe aims to drive as sporty as it looks, with a standard active suspension and a host of electronic driver aids, including a head-up display, rear-wheel steering and adaptive LED lighting. (BMW)
The rear-drive sedan will come with either a 315 hp turbocharged six-cylinder (shown here) or 445 hp turbocharged V8, both combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission. An all-wheel-drive model with the V8 will also be available. (BMW)
Interior design is highly-stylized and upholstered from top to bottom in leather. If features a 10.2 inch monitor for navigation and infotainment systems and can be outfitted with a parking assist system with cameras that provide a top-down view of the car. (BMW)
The Gran Coupe will be available with an optional M-Sport package that includes a more aggressive front fascia and side skirts, black-painted brake calipers, sports exhaust and unique wheels and paint colors.
