PARIS - It's not exactly a case of "your croissant or your life" but a thief has been terrorizing bakeries in Paris, making off with a passel of pastries since early December.

According to AFP, the man, who appears to be in his 40s, has robbed five bakeries in the western suburbs with a technique that's short and sweet.

He first places an order, then brandishes what appears to be a fake revolver and scoops up the baked goods before beating a tasty retreat.

No injuries have been reported.
