BEIRUT -- Lebanese security officials say Syria has handed over a suspect in the kidnapping of seven Estonian tourists.
The tourists were abducted inside Lebanon's eastern Bekaa Valley and held for nearly four months before being released in July.
The Lebanese security officials say Syrian officers at the border arrested the suspect Wednesday as he tried to enter Syria on a forged passport. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief the media.
A previously unknown group called Harakat al-Nahda wal-Islah, or the Movement for Renewal and Reform, had claimed responsibility for the March 23 abduction and demanded an unspecified ransom. It is not clear whether any money -- or how much -- was paid.
