Teen attacked by shark off North Carolina coast, report says

A 14-year-old was attacked by a shark off North Carolina on Sunday at Atlantic Beach and suffered an injury to his right leg.

He was surfing at the time and managed to swim back to shore. The teen said the shark bit him twice, but then realized he “wasn’t a fish.”

The teen was taken to a hospital where he received stitches, WRAL.com reported. Officials could not determine the type of shark in the attack.
