Two Southern California toddlers subject of an Amber Alert after the car they were in was stolen have been found safely, authorities said.
Cathedral City police said on Twitter that the brothers, 1-year-old Jayden Cortez and 2-year-old Carlos Cortez, were inside of their babysitter’s Honda Accord when she stepped out for an errand Thursday night and someone stole it.
Police said the incident happened around 6:44 p.m. and an Amber Alert was issued soon after.
Authorities said the abandoned car and the children were found early Friday in Desert Hot Springs, which is about 12 miles north of Palm Springs and about 100 miles east of Los Angeles.
On Facebook, Cathedral City police said they would be reunited with their family shortly.
Police said they have no information on the suspect.
