Police said the victims were transported to local hospitals. The woman was in critical condition, CBS Los Angeles reported. But the children’s conditions weren’t immediately released.

The suspect was identified as George Gomez, 21. Gomez stabbed his on-again-off-again girlfriend, her 3-year-old sister and and a 3-month-old.

Gomez then led police on a chase into Glendale and eventually surrendered after a four-hour standoff.
