Texas waitress Rachel Ali said she took two photographs next to a police car on the night of May 4: One giving the peace sign and one with each of her middle fingers extended in the air.

Both pictures made it online. Only one of the snapshots went viral.

Months after Ali posed for the photos, she was fired from her job at Los Cucos in Kingwood on Monday morning after the restaurant succumbed to community pressure, KHOU reported.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU GET PULLED OVER WHILE LEGALLY ARMED

“It was a stupid decision to put it on social media,” said Ali, who insists she has no animus toward police officers. “I regret posting it where people could see it. It was careless, but it was harmless.”

Law enforcement officers, however, saw the obscene gesture in a different light.

“They're disgusted, especially by seeing this happen so close to home,” president of the Harris County Fraternal Order of Police Tom Moore told KHOU. “I think she's going to learn from her actions that there's consequences – and they're not all good. She needs to be unemployable in the service industry.”

Ali still hopes to get her job back.

“I’m not a bad person at all,” she said. “I’m sorry people are taking it the wrong way.”
