COLUMBIA, Calif. – Authorities say a small private plane crashed at the airport in the Northern California town of Columbia, killing all four people on board.
The Tuolumne County Sheriff's Department says the plane crashed Wednesday as it tried to land on the runway but veered to the left.
It says the Cessna 310 was fully engulfed in flames when emergency crews arrived.
The department said the aircraft was coming from the north but didn't say where exactly.
The sheriff's department says investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board will arrive Thursday.
The crash also caused a small vegetation fire that was quickly extinguished.
No other information was immediately released.
