Chicago police are trying to determine if a man critically wounded when someone walked up and fired shots was attacked while he was live-streaming on Facebook.
Fox 32 posted on its Facebook page a 15-second snippet of the video showing the purported shooting. As of Friday afternoon the video had been viewed more than 119,000 times.
Police said they were aware of the video and according to the Chicago Sun-Times confirmed that a 31-year-old man was shot multiple times and critically wounded near the store depicted in the video around 5 p.m. Thursday.
“We are not confirming that the video is video of the incident,” Chicago Police Department spokeswoman Janel Sedevic told FoxNews.com Friday.

The Chicago Tribune reported that investigators were working to validate the video's authenticity.
In the video a man in a White Sox cap talks into his phone, noting that the store is open “so I got a place to duck in and hide,” the Sun-Times reported.
Suddenly, gunshots are heard and the phone seems to fall to the ground.
The video then captures the gunman with arms outstretched as more gunshots are heard.
According to the Sun-Times, the video ends with the voices of people shouting and a woman crying, “No, no, no, no!...I don’t believe this!”
