An eastern Pennsylvania police officer was dragged about 20 feet by a car during a traffic stop in Philadelphia early Sunday morning, police said.

Cops arrested the driver, but the man's name has not been released.

After initially pulling the man over, police said they smelled alcohol in the car and the driver looked intoxicated.

The driver then suddenly shifted the vehicle into gear and accelerated, knocking one of the officers off-balance and forcing another to grab onto the window of the car to avoid being run over, cops said. The second officer was dragged about 20 feet.

Police spotted the car about 30 minutes later. The driver continued to flee, but the car crashed into another vehicle.
