An iconic Texas ranch larger than New York City is on the market for almost three-quarters of a billion dollars.
The owners of the 510,000-acre Waggoner ranch are asking $725 million for the ranch, whose backwards 'D' brand is one of the oldest continuous brands in the state, dating back to 1849.
Sotheby’s International realty broker Bernard Uechtritz told the Houston Chronicle estimated it to be the largest ranch in the country “behind one fence.”
The Waggoner ranch spans six counties in northern Texas and includes hundreds of homes and quarter horses, and thousands of cattle, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
There are also at least one thousand oil wells on the property.
The ranch was put up for sale at the conclusion of a longtime family dispute that required court mediation.
