Police say a 71-year-old man is dead after being assaulted in a New York City nursing home.
Police responded to a 911 report of an assault at 1:23 a.m. Wednesday at a nursing home in the Rockaways.
They found the victim unresponsive with head trauma. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Police say a man was taken into custody at the scene. Further details were not immediately available.
The victim's name has not been released.
