SALT LAKE CITY – About 200 Utah teachers are being trained in handling concealed weapons.
Gun-rights advocates are offering the training. They say that classroom teachers could stop school shootings if they carried concealed firearms.
The instruction featuring plastic guns is set to begin at noon Thursday in a Salt Lake City suburb.
It's an idea gaining traction in the aftermath of the Connecticut school shooting.
In Ohio, a firearms group says it's launching a test program in tactical firearms training for teachers.
