LOS ANGELES – Investigators were working Saturday night to determine why a cyclist in Los Angeles was shot dead by an occupant of an SUV that had just struck him at an intersection.
Authorities were unsure whether road rage, gang activity or a personal vendetta were responsible for the bloodshed, which also saw a bystander wounded as he ran from the scene, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The white SUV hit the cyclist in the city's Koreatown neighborhood Saturday about 1:20pm local time, police said.
The injured cyclist was shot dead as he lay on the ground, while a second victim received non-life-threatening injuries as he ran from the scene.
The gunman and two men he was traveling with in the vehicle remain at large.
