A Connecticut daycare center owner was arrested after police said she locked a 6-month-old girl in a crawl space so a health inspector would not see the center was over capacity, the Connecticut Post reported.

Police in Waterbury arrested 54-year-old Catalina Reyes after an inspector found the baby, crying, inside the crawl space, according to the newspaper.

Authorities claim the baby was confined in the space for up to four hours, with no supervision, food or drink. She was found Wednesday by the inspector in her car seat behind the locked door in the a crawl space in the basement.

Reyes reportedly was running the daycare center out of her home in Waterbury. She was charged with risk of injury to a minor and released after p osting $5,000 bond.
