CHICAGO – My FOX Chicago News has obtained pictures of a Chicago police officer wearing his uniform in some very provocative photos with women wearing next to nothing.
The photos were posted on the officer's Facebook page. FOX Chicago News has three, but we've learned that until a couple of days ago, there were dozens more -- racy and raunchy and most taken while he's wearing his uniform and badge.
FOX Chicago News is not identifying the 15-year-veteran because top police brass who have seen the pictures said the only thing he's guilty of is being stupid.
No disciplinary action has been taken against him, although he knows he is in hot water.
Next week he will be in meetings with top brass, where he could be suspended for 15 to 20 days.
Some officers at District 18 on the North Side where the officer works are buzzing about the photos. The officer is assigned to the tactical team here, and when he's not taking pictures they said he's the man on the streets any cop would want to work with.
A FOX Chicago News viewer emailed the photos to our station, saying he was angered and embarrassed by the sight of them. He said he supports the police department, but does not support what this officer is doing.
The Chicago Police Department rejected our multiple requests for an interview.
Fraternal Order of Police President Michael Shields released a statement saying "The FOP does advise it's officers to keep all private and personal pictures off of Facebook or other social media outlets."
