Students at a New York middle school are facing discipline after an eighth grade girl allegedly sold as many as 20 of her classmates brownies laced with marijuana.

The girl was reportedly selling the brownies for $3 out of her backpack. She was caught when a fellow student complained. Police also found a small bag of marijuana in one of the school's bathrooms.

Department of Education spokeswoman Margie Feinberg called the incident "troubling" and said all the students who knowingly ate the brownies would be disciplined.

No one has been arrested.
