COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- A library was evacuated on the campus of Texas A&M University Monday after a bomb threat, university officials said on the school's website.

A "Code Maroon" was issued before 11:30am local time and the Evans Library building was evacuated, myFOXHouston.com reported. Law enforcement was on scene, school officials said.

Surrounding buildings, including the Evans Library Annex, Cushing Library and the Student Computing Center were also evacuated as a "precautionary measure" according to the website.

School officials said to expect the buildings to remain closed for "at least the next several hours" while the investigation continues.
