MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis police say a private school principal was found dead Wednesday morning in an apparent homicide, MyFoxMemphis.com reported.
The victim was identified as Suzette York, 48, who served as principal at the Memphis Junior Academy since 2008. Police say a 17-year-old male student is in custody.
The motive and cause of death were not immediately disclosed, but initial reports indicate that the victim may have been stabbed.
The school in east Memphis operated by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Classes at the school began Monday.
