NEW YORK – The union representing workers at Macy's flagship Manhattan store and three other New York locations has ratified its contract.
The announcement was made Thursday by the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union. The union says the 4,000 Macy's workers approved the contract by more than a 10-1 margin.
The other stores are in the Bronx, Queens and Westchester County.
The union says key provisions of the contract include a general wage increase of $3.05 over the next five years.
It says workers also will have more control over scheduling, guaranteed hours, and lower health care costs.
