British Airways and Comic Relief have teamed up with Disneyland Paris to bring some much-needed holiday cheer to families who were scarred by an unspeakable tragedy earlier this year.
On Tuesday, the theme park welcomed a group of visitors who were affected by the Manchester Arena bombing on May 22, during which an attacker identified as Salman Abedi detonated a bomb that claimed his own life and the lives of 22 concertgoers immediately following a performance by pop singer Ariana Grande.

The trip was arranged by British Airways and Comic Relief in celebration of Flying Start, their charity partnership initiative.
"We wanted to give some of the families a Christmas day out, to have fun and meet some of our celebrity ambassadors,” said British Airways community investment manager Mary Barry, The Mirror reported.
"We are very grateful to Disney for agreeing to work with us once again and to all the celebrities for giving their time to come with us,” she added.

As part of the trip, British Airways arranged for the families to be flown from Manchester to Paris on Tuesday morning, complete with celebrity chaperones including British comedian Jon Bishop and the cast of the British TV series “Hollyoaks.”
Upon arriving at the park, the group was greeted by two more celebrities — British television stars Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan — who posed for pictures with the group alongside Bishop and the “Hollyoaks” cast.
This is the fifth outing organized by Flying Start and Disneyland Paris, but the first in which British Airways and Disneyland teamed with the “I Love Manchester” campaign to support the families and victims of the bombing.
