A young woman from England is in critical condition after her luxury camping pod caught fire while she was inside.
Lydia Wadsworth was on a vacation with boyfriend Rob McDonnell at the Lady Heyes Caravan and Camping Park in Cheshire, when the incident took place last weekend. According to SWNS, both Wadsworth, 20, and McDonnell, 24, were inside their “glamping” pod when it caught fire, and both were pulled from their flaming lodging by bystanders before firefighters arrived on the scene to put out the blaze.

Wadsworth and McDonnell were reportedly rushed to the hospital to be treated severe burns and smoke inhalation.
A now-deleted Facebook post from Wadsworth’s family — which was shared to Wadsworth’s Facebook page on Monday — further detailed the injuries she sustained in the fire.
“She can’t speak as she has a ventilation pipe which blocks her voice box, however she has written to ask if we’d write a message to her friends and family thanking them for their kind wishes at such a difficult time,” read the message. “She has 7 percent burns to her right arm and severe damage to her respiratory system but is making positive progress which is what we are trying to focus on.”

McDonnell’s mother, too, confirmed that her son Rob “is in a bad way,” and was put under sedation at a hospital, reports The Sun. SWNS adds that his condition remains unknown.
Firefighters are not yet certain how the fire started, but believe it started accidentally.
"Two people who were inside the pod were rescued by members of the public prior to the arrival of the fire crews,” confirmed a spokesperson for the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service. "One male, suffering from smoke inhalation, and one female, suffering from burns, were taken to hospital by paramedics.
"Crews were at the scene for one hour and 50 minutes,” the spokesperson added.
