By now you may have heard that the iPhone 6 is expected to come in two sizes: 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches. Now comes word that the latter smartphone will be dubbed the iPhone 6L, and the L won't just stand for large display.

According to Apple Daily, the iPhone 6L will sport a very generous 2915 mAh battery. That's nearly double the size of the iPhone 5s' 1570 mAh pack. A lot of iPhone owners complain about short battery life. In fact, many resort to attaching a thick battery charger case, so it's nice to know that the larger iPhone 6 will likely have much improved endurance.

It's true that it takes more juice to power a tablet-size display, but we suspect that the extra capacity of the battery will more than offset the size of the panel.

For proof that bigger can be better when it comes to displays and battery life, look no further than the Galaxy Note 3. That 5.7-inch handset lasted an epic 11+ hours on the Laptop Mag Battery Test, which involves continuous Web surfing over 4G LTE. The 6.1-inch Huawei Ascend Mate 2 lasted an even longer 14:43.Sadly, the current iPhone 5s supplied only 5 hours and 46 minutes of battery life on our test.

We also expect the smaller 4.7-inch iPhone 6 to pack a bigger battery. According to BGR, previous reports pegged it being between 1800 mAh and 1900 mAh. Perhaps Samsung won't be able to run that iPhone-mocking wall huggers commercial for much longer.
