The buzz around Apple’s eagerly-anticipated iPhone 6 is starting to build. Australian tech blogger Sonny Dickson has posted what he claims are iPhone 6 models to his Twitter.

Rumors abound in the tech community prior to the launch of any new Apple product, but these photos warrant particular interest because Dickson is the same blogger who leaked authentic photos of the iPhone 5 before its release last year.

Dickson tweeted “Hello! #iPhone6” in two separate tweets on Friday, each of which was accompanied by images of devices.

Subsequent tweets from Dickson indicate that the photos show a 5.5-inch model and a 4.7-inch model side-by-side. The larger phone could be a response to the popularity of Samsung’s newest line of Galaxy smartphones, which range in size from 5.3 to 6.6-inches, all considerably larger than the 4.7-inch iPhone 5.

Apple faces stiff competition in the smartphone market from smartphones using the Android operating system. In April, Android held 52.5% of the market, compared to Apple’s 41.4%, according to the latest research from analytics specialist comScore.

Apple has not yet responded to FoxNews.com’s requests for comment on the legitimacy of the photos.  The iPhone 6 is expected to be released sometime later this year.

Dickson has promised to post “exclusive leaks” on his Instagram
