Evan Rachel Wood on Dating Older Guys … and Gay Guys

When it comes to romantic relationships, Evan Rachel Wood seems to opt for older guys - Marilyn Manson, Mickey Rourke and now she’s moved on to actor Shane West. So what is it about her elders that this 21-year-old finds so appealing?

"That's just what works for me. I usually just have more in common with them for some reason," Wood recently told Tarts. "I guess because I've just always been around older people …"

But age aside, if he was straight and she was single Miss Wood admitted she would totally go for "Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert.

"I probably couldn’t help myself, that guyliner is so amazing," she gushed. "But he’s got an incredible voice, talent is very sexy. I love that he’s so androgynous, he just doesn’t care, has fun and wears whatever he wants."

However Wood too doesn’t seem to stress over the conceptions people have of her and she made a conscious career decision not to become another Hollywood stereotype.

"I wasn't too rebellious; I was a pretty good kid. My parents were very strict so it wasn't until I turned 18 that I went crazy," she explained. "I tried so hard to fit a certain mold that certain people in my life wanted me to be. I thought that making other people happy was enough to make me happy, but I just wasn't comfortable so now I follow my instinct. You only live once."

Wood stars in Woody Allen’s new dark comedy "Whatever Works" and funnily enough, playing stupid was quite the challenge for the North Carolina native.

"I hate to say it but it was very hard to play dumb, but it was fun," she added. "Playing such an over the top, kind of kooky, naive, ditsy southern girl was kind of the complete opposite of me so it was difficult."

Mishaps: Kris Forgets the Words, Matt Forgets His Fly and Michael Flies to Serious Injury

The Class of 2009 "American Idol" Top 10 tour is earning rave reviews as it travels across the country, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t come without its fair share of bust-ups …

"I actually messed up some words and I felt so bad because the band played along," winner Kris Allen told Tarts prior to their Los Angeles show last week. "So I’m admitting that, I’m sorry."

While Allen twisted his tongue on one occasion, Matt Giraud suffered a wardrobe malfunction.

"My fly was down in front of 10,000 people. I found out on Twitter which was the worst," Giraud said. "I did a real smooth turn to fix it … Then one night I went out and my microphone wasn’t there, so I was just singing to the crowd with no mic."

But offstage, Michael Sarver was the one who had to be wheeled away. The 28-year-old Texan was walking down the steps at the very end of a show when a fan screamed his name, but as he excitedly turned to respond he missed two steps and cracked his heel bone on landing.

"I’m in a lot of pain all the time and I’m supposed to be wearing a boot right now but its driving me nuts so I didn’t put it on today," Sarver said. "If the doctor hears this, they’re going to scream at me."

Oh, and curious minds couldn’t help but ask who is the most annoying music mastermind on the bus …

"Scott (McIntyre) does vocal warm-ups all day long. All day long. We all tease him for it but we love him," Giraud added.

Rosanne Cash to Revive Her Father’s Work

For all those Johnny Cash fans out there, here’s something to make you smile. For the first time ever, his daughter Rosanne Cash (who is primarily known for her song writing) is releasing a cover album entitled "The List" featuring twelve country classics that her famous father insisted she listen to when she was just eighteen after he became alarmed over her lack of deep musical understanding.

Pop Tarts has been told the album will feature hits by dad Johnny Cash as well as The Carter Family, Bob Dylan, Patsy Cline and Merle Haggard and is due to hit the stands in October.
