Beyonce Knowles-Carter — often called just by her first name Beyonce — is an American singer, performer, and actress who first became famous as the lead singer of Destiny's Child, one of the most popular girl groups in the history of the music industry. She is an award-winning artist and one of the most successful female musicians in the world. Beyonce has won many accolades for her music and acting career and is one of the world's best-selling recording artists. She has sold over 120 million records across the globe. She married American rapper and record producer Jay Z in 2008, and the couple share three children.

Much of her solo career success emerged in the 2000s when six of her studio debuted at number one on the Billboard Top 200. Beyonce has earned dozens of critically acclaimed awards for her musical performances, including 28 Grammy Awards, 31 BET Awards, 26 MTV Video Music Awards, and 24 NAACP Image Awards. Billboard also named her Top Female Artist of the Decade, and Beyonce won Top Certified Artist of the Decade by the Recording Industry Association of America. Her widespread career success has earned a fortune estimated to be hundreds of millions of dollars.

Beyonce increased her fame through multiple supporting roles in films. Her career movie roles include "The Pink Panther," "Dreamgirls," "Obsessed," and the remake of "The Lion King" in 2019. Some of her most successful singles include "If I were a Boy," "Single Ladies," and "Halo."

Beyonce has collaborated with many highly acclaimed musical artists in albums and live performances, such as Jack White, The Weeknd, James Blake, and Kendrick Lamar. In 2016, she performed at the Superbowl 50 halftime show alongside Bruno Mars for her new music video "Formation." The song caused controversy at the time because it referenced the 50th anniversary of the Black Panther Party.
