SUNRISE, Fla. - Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations Dale Tallon announced Saturday that the Panthers have claimed forward Seth Griffith off of waivers from the Toronto Maple Leafs. Griffith is expected to join the Panthers on their upcoming road trip, beginning Nov. 15 vs. Montreal Canadiens.

The 23-year old Griffith has played three games this season with Toronto. During the 2015-16 season Griffith recorded 77 points (24-53-77) in 57 games with the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League. His 77 points ranked him second in AHL scoring, while his 53 assists ranked him first in the league. In the 2016 Calder Cup Playoffs, Griffith recorded three points (1-2-3) in three postseason games.

Griffith has played in 37 NHL games with the Toronto Maple Leafs (2016-17) and Boston Bruins (2014-16) recording 11 points (6-5-11). The 5-foot-9, 191-pound native of Wallaceburg, Ontario was originally selected by the Boston Bruins in the fifth round (131st overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft.

Additionally, the Panthers have assigned forward Shane Harper to Florida's AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.
