CBS basketball analyst and former NBA star Greg Anthony has been arrested and charged with soliciting a prostitute, Washington police say.
Anthony is facing a misdemeanor solicitation charge that is punishable up to 180 days in jail, Lt. Kelvin Cusick told The Associated Press. He was arrested shortly before 6 p.m. Friday.
CBS suspended him indefinitely following his arrest. A CBS spokeswoman told the AP "Greg Anthony will not be working again for CBS this season."
Anthony was released Friday evening. No other details were made available.
He was scheduled to announce the college basketball game between Michigan State and Maryland Saturday in College Park, Maryland.
The former NBA point guard spent 11 years in the league. He was drafted in the first round of the 1991 NBA Draft out of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas by the New York Knicks.
He averaged 7.3 points and 4.0 assists per game in his career that spans six teams.
