STILLWATER, Okla. – Brittany Atkins scored 15 points, Liz Donohoe 13 and No. 20 Oklahoma State beat Texas State 64-37 on Saturday.
Though the Cowgirls (5-1) made just 28 of 74 shots for 37.8 percent, they held the Bobcats (2-3) to 22.6 percent on 12-of-53 shooting. The Cowgirls also made 10 steals and turned 22 Bobcats turnovers into 27 points.
Brittney Martin pulled 11 rebounds for Oklahoma State, which had a 51-39 advantage on the boards.
Oklahoma State had an 8-0 lead before Kaitlin Walla made two free throws for Texas State's first points with 11:48 left in the first half.
The Cowgirls led 28-13 at halftime and a 13-0 run sparked by nine straight points by Atkins and two baskets by Martin gave them a 55-32 lead with 5:39 left in the game.
Texas State's Erin Peoples scored 14 points.
The Cowgirls extended their home winning streak over nonconference opponents to 37.
