Bradshaw earns first win at Great Waterway Classic

Kingston, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - David Bradshaw shared the lead when the third round was completed earlier Sunday, then he carded a 5-under 67 in the final round to win the Great Waterway Classic.

Bradshaw finished at 21-under-par 267 at Loyalist Golf and Country Club. This was his first win on the PGA Tour Canada.

Adam Long also closed with a 67 and he shared second place with Tommy Cocha (67). They ended one stroke back at minus-20. Michael Gligic took fourth place at 18-under 270 after a final-round 69.

Chris Hemmerich, who was making his professional debut, shared the lead with Bradshaw entering the final round. Hemmerich managed a 1-under 71 and ended in a tie for fifth at minus-17. He was joined there by Brock Mackenzie (65), Cory Renfrew (68), Brady Schnell (63) and Michael Buttacavoli (66).

Bradshaw quickly moved ahead of Hemmerich with birdies at one and three. Hemmerich made eagle on No. 5 to jump to 18-under, but Bradshaw made a birdie there to climb to minus-19.

Bradshaw followed with birdies at six and seven, and he was two clear of his playing partner. Bradshaw stumbled to bogeys on the eighth and ninth, but rebounded with a birdie on the 10th.

Hemmerich dropped shots at nine and 11 to fall three back. After three pars in a row, Bradshaw stumbled to a bogey on the 14th, but came right back with a birdie on the 15th.

Bradshaw closed with a birdie on the par-5 18th to beat Long and Cocha, who both birdied the last as well, by one.

Long put together a bogey-free round. He converted back-to-back birdies at five and six, then again at 14 and 15. Long birdied the last to post minus-20.

Cocha flew up the leaderboard early with four birdies in the first seven holes to move to 18-under. He traded a birdie for a bogey from the 10th. He grabbed a share of second with birdies at 14 and 18.

NOTES: Bradshaw earned $27,000 for the win ... He will move into the top 10 on the Order of Merit ... Amateur Austin James closed with a 68 to end in a tie for 49th ... There was a long weather delay on Friday that pushed the end of the second and third round into Saturday and Sunday, respectively ... The PGA Tour Canada moves to Peterborough, Ontario, next week for The Wildfire Invitational, where Mark Hubbard won last year.
