Sunrise, FL – The Florida Panthers re-signed Shawn Matthias to a two-year contract on Friday.
The 25-year-old center potted a career-best 14 goals while playing all 48 games during the truncated 2013 NHL season.
Selected by Detroit in the second round (47th overall) of the 2006 draft, Matthias was dealt by the Red Wings to the Panthers less than a year later for Todd Bertuzzi.
For his career, Matthias has totaled 39 goals and 42 assists in 253 games with the Panthers.
