SAN DIEGO – U.S. national team members Joshua Gatt and Cory Ashe are battling injuries as the Americans prepare for the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Midfielder Gatt hurt his left knee while playing for Molde in Norway and is awaiting results of an MRI exam.
Houston Dynamo defender Ashe suffered a right thigh contusion in a collision during a 2-0 loss to New York in the MLS on Sunday. Ashe is considered day to day.
The Americans will play Guatemala on Friday at Qualcomm Stadium before heading to the Gold Cup. Their first tournament match is July 9 against Belize in Portland, Ore.
