Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez is facing up to six months in jail after he was arrested on suspicion of driving while disqualified.

Tevez received a six-month driving ban in January after he failed to respond to letters from police in relation to his being caught speeding on numerous occasions.

The 29-year-old Tevez was stopped by police in Macclesfield, England on Thursday and was arrested, and according to a statement from Cheshire Police, Tevez posted bail.

If convicted, Tevez faces a maximum of six months in prison for driving while disqualified.

In all competitions this season, Tevez has tallied 12 goals.
