Minneapolis, MN – The Minnesota Timberwolves have signed forward Josh Howard, pending a physical.
The team also waived guard Will Conroy to make room for Howard, the nine-year veteran out of Wake Forest.
Howard averaged 8.7 points and 3.7 rebounds in 43 games for Utah last year. He owns career averages of 14.5 points and 5.7 rebounds over 496 games, including 399 starts, for Dallas, Washington and Utah.
The Wolves have been decimated by injuries early this season. Forward Chase Budinger underwent knee surgery on Tuesday and joins Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio, Brandon Roy and J.J. Barea on the sideline for Minnesota.
Conroy had limited minutes in four games for the Wolves this season.
