Brussels, Belgium – World No. 3 Agnieszka Radwanska and rising Romanian Simona Halep will be the combatants in Saturday's final at the $637,000 Brussels Open, a final clay-court French Open tune-up.
The top-seeded Radwanska was tested in the first set before heading on to defeat eighth-seeded Estonian Kaia Kanepi 7-6 (10-8), 6-3 in 1 hour, 51 minutes in semifinal action at Royal Primerose Tennis Club.
The 23-year-old Radwanska is a two-time WTA titlist this year, with big tour victories in Miami and Dubai.
Her opponent in the final will be the 20-year-old Halep, who handled Swedish veteran Sofia Arvidsson 6-4, 6-3 in 80 minutes on Day 5.
The Polish Radwanska is 9-2 in her previous WTA finals, while Halep is 0-2, with both losses coming in Fes, Morocco in 2010 and 2011.
Radwanska beat Halep in their lone career meeting in the third round at last year's Australian Open.
The 2012 Brussels champion will collect $107,000.
