Indianapolis, IN – Indianapolis Colts offensive lineman Ryan Diem has decided to retire.
Colts owner Jim Irsay broke the news on his Twitter feed.
"ColtFans,met with Ryan D,big#71 in ur hearts n program,yesterday;he is going 2 retire,raise those new twins,we wish him happy alumnus status," Irsay tweeted.
Diem, an 11-year veteran with the Colts, responded on the social media outlet.
"Thanks for the opportunity, Mr. Irsay!" Diem tweeted. "The last 11 years have been unbelievable, and I appreciate every minute of it.
"It's been a heck of a ride... Time for a new chapter. I am retiring!"
Diem started 11 games last season and was a fixture on the right side of the Colts' line since 2001. He has started all but seven of the 157 games he played, initially at right guard before moving to right tackle.
