Fort Myers, FL – The Boston Red Sox released right-handed pitcher Carlos Silva on Saturday.
Silva, who hasn't pitched in the majors since 2010, signed as a minor league free agent in December and was a non-roster invite to spring training.
Over nine seasons with the Phillies, Twins, Mariners and Cubs, the 32-year-old has a 70-70 record with a 4.68 earned run average and 554 strikeouts.
