Top-seeded Andy Murray eased into the opening Brisbane International with a straight-set win over Bernard Tomic on Saturday.

Murray needed only 70 minutes to top the 19-year-old Aussie favorite 6-3, 6-2 on the hardcourts at Queensland Tennis Centre.

The 2011 Australian Open runner-up, Murray struggled through his first two matches this week, but was dominant the last two days, highlighting the turnaround by firing 13 aces on Saturday.

He moved on to face third-seeded Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov, a 6-3, 6-4 winner over second-seeded Frenchman Gilles Simon in the other semifinal. Dolgopolov only faced one break point and won 85 percent of his first-serve points.

Murray won his only two previous meetings Dolgopolov, including a four-set win in last year's Australian Open.

The winner of Sunday's match will claim $74,370.
