Edoardo Molinari and James Morrison fired nine- under 62s Thursday to share the lead after the opening round of the Singapore Open.

The event is being contested on the Serapong Course and Tanjong Course at Sentosa Golf Club for the first two rounds.

Both players shot their 62s on the Tanjong Course and matched the course record that Ignacio Garrido set last year. The Serapong Course will host the final two rounds after the 204-player field plays one round apiece on the two courses.

Former PGA Champion Y.E. Yang is alone in third place at minus-eight. Daisuke Maruyama is one stroke back after he carded a seven-under 64.

Yang is one of four Presidents Cup players in the field. Phil Mickelson is the long American Presidents Cup player in Singapore this week. He mixed four birdies, two bogeys and a double-bogey in an even-par round of 71.

The other two Presidents Cup participants playing this week are South Africans Retief Goosen and Ernie Els. Goosen shares 23rd at four-under 67, while Els is tied for 126th at plus-one.
