Shanghai, China – Fredrik Jacobson posted a five-under 67 on HSBC Champions.
Jacobson matched David Howell's 2005 54-hole record with his 16-under 200 at Sheshan International Golf Club. The Swede is two strokes clear and continued his fine form that saw him finish third last week in Malaysia.
Former British Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen managed a four-under 68 and is alone in second at minus-14.
Adam Scott overcame a double-bogey at the eighth hole, thanks in large part to a hole-out eagle from the fairway at the 18th. He shot a three-under 69 and is third at 13-under 203, but it wasn't all great for Scott.
A report in The Telegraph stated that Scott's caddy, Steve Williams, who formerly caddied for Tiger Woods, made a racial remark about Woods at the caddy award dinner a few nights prior.
Williams was on Scott's bag Saturday.
World No. 2 Lee Westwood (67) and world No. 3 and reigning U.S. Open champion Rory McIlroy (65) are tied for fourth at 12-under 204.
A pair of 2010 major champions share sixth place. U.S. Open winner Graeme McDowell (67) and Martin Kaymer (68) are tied at 11-under 205, only five off the lead.
