Granada, Spain โ Xavi scored in the 33rd minute and Barcelona 0 on Tuesday to return to the top of the La Liga standings.
Barca controlled nearly 75 percent of possession and did not allow one shot on goal from Granada, which finished with nine players after Jaime Romero was red carded early in the second half and Dani Benitez in stoppage time.
Barcelona lost the league lead over the weekend to Levante, but regained first and holds a one-point cushion. Levante and second-place Real Madrid, which is two points back, are yet to play their midweek fixtures.
Xavi notched the lone goal at the Los Carmenes off a free kick into the upper- left corner, his fourth goal of the season. Xavi was making his 392 appearance in La Liga for Barca, a new club record.
Barcelona remained undefeated through 10 league matches with six wins and four ties. Granada has just one win and five points and could fall to the bottom if Sporting Gijon gets a result in its next match.
Sevilla 2, Racing 2
Seville, Spain - Manu scored twice, including the equalizer in stoppage time, as Sevilla escaped the Sanchez Pizjuan with a 2-2 draw against winless Racing on Tuesday to remain undefeated in La Liga.
Manu opened the scoring late in the first half, but Ariel Nahuelpan and Jairo Samperio scored in a seven-minute stretch after the break for Racing. Manu was able to save Sevilla at home when he added his second goal near the end.
Sevilla settled for its fifth draw to go with four wins and is in fourth place - four points behind leaders Barcelona. Racing moved off the bottom with the draw, but is still the only winless club remaining in the league.
