Chiba, Japan – Toru Taniguchi shot a six-under 65 on Sunday to win the Bridgestone Open 2011 comfortably by five strokes over four players.
Taniguchi finished at 15-under 169 at Sodegaura Country Club and won this event for the second time, with the first coming in 2004. It's his 17th career victory on the Japan Tour, but first in 2011 and only third since 2007.
He finished the tournament in fine form with six birdies and no bogeys; it was his second straight bogey-free round.
Shingo Katayama (65), Koumei Oda (67), Michio Matsumura (68) and Hiroo Kawai (69) all shared second at 10-under 274. Brandt Snedeker (67) and Hyung-Tae Kim (68) finished sixth at nine-under.
