Yang Mei, Taoyuan, Taiwan – Women's world No. 1 Yani Tseng under 68 on Thursday to join Ai Miyazato atop the leaderboard after the first round of the inaugural Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship.
Tseng, who hails from Taiwan, has already won six times this year on the LPGA Tour and has wrapped up Player of the Year honors. Miyazato, a former world No. 1, earned her seventh LPGA Tour title earlier this season at the Evian Masters.
Morgan Pressel opened with a three-under 69 and she shares third place with Anna Nordqvist and Jennifer Song.
Cristie Kerr headlines a group of six players at minus-two at Sunrise Golf & Country Club.
