President Trump on Saturday boasted about “big meetings” at his Florida retreat, after the recent release of an audiotape and other evidence raising concerns about how he conducts official business outside of the White House.

The audiotape, released Saturday by Politico, was secretly record in November at Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, and seems to capture the president telling cocktail and dinner guests to join him the next day, amid him interviewing potential Cabinet nominees.

“We’re doing a lot of interviews tomorrow -- generals, dictators,” says Trump, according to Politico. “You may wanna come around. It’ll be fun. … We have meetings every 15, 20 minutes with different people that will form our government."

On Friday, Trump traveled to Mar-a-Lago, his private club in South Florida, where he is interviewing former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton and Army Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster for the job of national security adviser. Trump earlier this week fired retired Army Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn from the post.

Former CIA Director and Army Gen. David Petraeus is out of the running for the job, the White House said Saturday.

On Saturday, Trump boasted on Twitter about his "many meetings this weekend at The Southern White House" and his "big" speech in Melbourne later in the day. He added: "A lot to talk about!"

Trump was criticized last weekend for appearing to discuss North Korea’s ballistic missile test, while on a patio at Mar-a-Lago.

Critics argued such actions are a national security risk, amid broader concerns on Capitol Hill and across the country about rival nations’ access to top-secret government information.

The White House said Trump last weekend at the resort was not discussing classified information in public.
