New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan (D.) could not say if Hillary Clinton was honest or trustworthy despite being directly asked the question three times in an interview that aired Tuesday with CNN.
Correspondent Manu Raju noted Hassan, who is running against incumbent Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R., N.H.) for the U.S. Senate, dodged the question each time he posed it.
“Do you think that she’s honest and trustworthy?” Raju asked.
“I support Hillary Clinton for the presidency because her experience and her record demonstrate that she’s qualified to hold the job,” Hassan said.
“Do you think she’s honest?” Raju asked.
“She has a critical, critical plan, among others, for making college more affordable,” she said.
“But do you think that she’s trustworthy?” Raju asked.
“I think that she has demonstrated a commitment always to something beyond herself, bigger than herself,” she said.
