Arizona Senate approves 4 pro-gun bills

PHOENIX – The Arizona Senate has given initial approval to four major pro-gun bills.

The House-approved bills include one that allows concealed-carry permit holders to bring weapons into government buildings that don't have security measures and another that imposes fines on cities, towns and their lawmakers who enforce gun ordinances stricter than the state's own laws.

Another bill would allow authorities to charge a person with aggravated assault who's accused of wresting a gun away from someone else. Doing so is already a felony offense.

The final bill and would ban cities, counties and towns from restricting the shooting of guns on private property.

The Senate must still cast a roll-call vote on all bills.
